Location is the key ingredient here. You'll be as close as you can get to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park boundary line as well as one of the very closest to historic Cades Cove .. now how cool is that! And how often can you take a 20 minute hike and wet a fishing line? Well you can here. Or five minutes max by car. In the summer time enjoy swimming at the popular 'Y' where river access is clean, cool and easy, only 7 minutes away. Did I mention location?
Now back to the Lodge ... The main level includes three bedrooms (two queens and two twins), two baths (one full and one shower), a complete kitchen and dining room, washer/dryer, hot tub, etc, big screen TV/ DVD/ VCR/ and extended, basic cable. And of course we have Wi-Fi!
Why, some bedrooms have their own TV as well. A lovely collection of cherished antiques mixed with modern conveniences and mountain decorations make ‘The Lodge’ a unique manor in which to anticipate your family reunion year after year! Three bedrooms (three queens) and and one bath (shower) complete the lower level. On the upper deck is our relaxing hot tub with its own privacy porch. Speaking of porch .. take a look at the picture of this ginormous beauty. Just how may relatives can you entertain here as they listen to stories of days gone by. Or perhaps you would rather listen to the katydids and night sounds while you soak away the cares of the day in the spacious, clean, relaxing hot tub!
Check this out ... there is another complete kitchen and laundry on the lower level! Talk about plenty of space for all the gals in the kitchen(s) ... woohoo! Plus...each level boasts its own wood-burning fireplace to gather ‘round and reminisce. What a wonderful place to get re-acquainted!
Plenty of paved parking, no 4-wheel drives needed. Definitely motorcycle friendly! There is an awesome place to park your bikes and keep them dry under the large deck I mentioned earlier. It provides the perfect, dry overhang for the entryway downstairs.
You'll be in the woods. You may be visited by wild turkey, dear, plenty of well-fed squirrels and raccoons, not to mention the occasional sighting of a mamma bear with her adorable little cubs off in the distance. This is one of the closest cabins to historic Cades Cove, only seven miles away. Tour an old school house, church or mill and imagine how life once was. What an experience. Nature in its truest form, the way it was intended!
In a lovely small town you may have to 'settle' for laid back activities such as hiking, horseback riding, touring the magnificent Smokies, spleunking, geocaching, naturistic sightseeing, bluegrass, daylily and old-timer craft festivals, and the most popular being riding a tube down the lazy river for hours on end!
The Little River runs the entire length of Townsend and we are proud to have a three mile bike/walking trail ... lighted! A new and very popular arrival to our little town is the Great Smoky Mountain Heritage Center and I'll see that you get FREE tickets to tour, just ask! Ahhhh.... relaxation for a change! Need a bit more action? 'The Lodge' and Townsend are only 18 miles from the ever popular Gatlinburg including Ober Gatlinburg ski resort, Pigeon Forge, known to be a shopper's paradise with all the outlet malls, etc. AND Dollywood! Stage shows, music theaters, fine dining, action and more action. But, you'll be glad you're residing on the 'Peaceful side of the Smokies...Townsend, TN' when the day is done!
