If you are looking to be slightly out of the centre (but still central!) 10 minutes away from the action of 'downtown' Dublin, then our apartment, Dublinletfor2 could be right for you. Hidden away behind trees in a quiet complex in prestigous D4, the Ballsbridge/Donnybrook area, is a very spacious and comfortable home from home which I offer, on a limited basis, throughout the year. We use it a lot ourselves as our Irish home so it is very well equipped for day to day living and not the typical 'normal' holiday let. That said, it does not have the clutter of personal posessions as these are shut away in a cupboard. It is on the Aircoach route which drops you 3 minutes walk away.
It is ideal for hotel-jaded tourists, academics (the UCD complex is minutes away), golfers (5 minutes walk to Elm Park), lovers of the seaside (just over a mile to walk) and all those who want to experience home living in one of the nicest cities in Europe. You do not need a car although it is useful for trips out of Dublin and you can always pick up a bike around the city from the city bike scheme lots. Dublin is a walking city and you may just want to see most of it on foot but the transport links across the city are excellent and you can pick up a bus just 3 minutes walk away. Many day tours to all corners of Ireland are on offer if you don't want to drive and just need a base from which to explore.

The entrance hall with video phone entry system leads to a large sittingroom overlooking the trees of Ballsbridge, Georgian houses, and in the distance (a mile away) the sea at Sandymount, mostly hidden by buildings and trees. Vast picture windows, facing North East, flood the rooms with light and as you are on the third floor (American 4th) you can watch the every changing clouds for year round entertainment. Comforable seating is grouped round an open fireplace in which you can burn smokeless logs. You have free unlimited WiFi and cable TV with Chromecast so you can beam your film/youtube etc. subscriptions on your device straight onto it.
The kitchen is modern and well equipped although not large but there is a little table for having coffee sited in the window. The coffee machines are many and various to suit all tastes and there is ample cooking equipment, a ceramic hob, electric oven and microwave. In addition, I leave a basic store cupboard and you can just use and replace so you won't have to rush out and buy all the salt, sugar, oil, tea, coffee etc. the moment you arrive.
The bedroom is large with good cupboard and drawer space. The bed is a King base on which there are two single mattresses made up separately in the German or Austrian fashion so they could be used by both couples or close friends and relations if you don't mind sleeping side by side. An ensuite bathroom with a powerful over the bath shower has been completely renovated in November 2017.
There is a cloakroom with basin and WC off the hall. This is where a high spin washing machine is located. I do not have a dryer but the clothes dry very quickly on racks or radiators in the winter so this is never a problem as the apartment is always sufficiently warm. On the rare occasions the weather is hot, I have a fan (Used about 3 days every two years!) but usually, in summer if it is warm I open the door to the balcony for more fresh air.
This apartment is for 2 people only and the minimum stay is one week. I do not allow children under 10 (and they count as one person!) as the block is mainly inhabited by very quiet retired people who do not appreciate a lot of noise. I favour guests of the mature variety! Parties are not permitted, nor is smoking and pets are prohibted by order of the management.
I do not believe in adding on any extras, whatsoever, to the rate so everything is included. The only extra expense may be the cost of transferring money. My bank charges 10 Euros to receive a payment in a foreign currency and I have a merchant account for credit card payments which adds 2.9% to the payment. Transferwise and some other currency services incurs no charge at the receiving end.

Stays are usually a minimum of one week although very occasionally I can do less. I usually only take bookings at least a month in advance, rarely last minute, as I fly over from England to prepare everything for you.
There are many and various ways that you can pay and I leave it to you to decide how although I do not take Cashier's checks or Western Union payments.
