Mission Park in Claremont, Florida is one of the newer, medium sized vacation rental communities. It was completed in 2005 and has just over over 180 three and four bedroom homes. The fact that it's located just over 20 minutes from Orlando's Disney World®, combined with the competitive pricing of the vacation homes here, makes Mission Park an extremely attractive option for vacationers. Also for golfers, the Clermont and Davenport areas have a number of championship golf courses, many of which are open to the public.
About at Mission Park
Mission Park is a secure gated community in Clermont which consists of single storey detached homes that are each all finished to a good standard. The properties on the community are a combination of privately owned residential and vacation rental homes. Mission Park has been well designed as equally well maintained with tree lined streets and a large wooded area that a lot of the homes look out over. The subdivision also includes some communal amenities which include a community pool with a cabana, a children's playground and a basketball court. These facilities are free for guests and homeowners to use.

The games room may contain some or all of the following: a pool table and/or Foosball, and/or air hockey, etc.
Mission Park on Youtube
In order to write our Central Disney Area Destination Guide, we visited each of the communities in the Orlando area and in a lot of cases we also recorded a brief video of the community and uploaded it to Youtube. We did this on our visit to Mission Park, which you can see by clicking below. These videos are fairly short and are simply intended to give an impression of the community and provide potential guests with more of a feel for the neighborhood.

The Mission Park Weather
When staying in Florida, no matter where you stay, you'll never be far from the ocean, so as a result, the weather across the Sunshine state is partly determined by the ocean. In addition, climatically the state is divided into two. The split occurs at Lake Okeechobee, in the middle of the state. In areas to the North of the lake, which is where Mission Park is located, the climate is classified as humid subtropical, while areas to the south have a true tropical climate.
So, when staying in Mission Park, you should expect weather ranging from warm and pleasant during the non-summer months, through to extremely hot during the summer months of June to September. The sun shines on most days in Florida and the temperature doesn't usually fall below freezing (0°C / 32F). These facts should give you a clue as to why Disney World® and Universal Studious and the other parks were built in Orlando.
Generally, if you visit the parks outside of the summer months, you should have a dry and comfortable experience. But in summer months, it's going to be very hot and very humid most days, with temperatures in June, July and August reaching into the mid 90s F.
Other Communities to Consider
Mission Park offers a decent range of vacation rental homes and it's well located for the parks, but we advise you to also check out other similar rental communities and resorts which are often sited within a few miles of Mission Park and where you might find other properties of interest. While It's not a huge disadvantage, but the Davenport and Clermont communities are further away from most of the attractions, but they are often priced better than vacation rental homes in Kissimmee. In the Davenport/Clerment areas, why not check out Bella Toscana and also, if you're into golf, Highlands Reserve . If you're looking to keep costs down, then we'd suggest looking at Crescent Lakes . Looking at vacation rental communities in Kissimmee, you may want to look at vacation rentals in Emerald Island which is close to Disney and Terra Verde, which again is close to the parks.
If the rental rate is not a major constraint, then we'd adise you to look at Formosa Gardens, or Windsor Hills and Windsor Palms which are both full resorts and so offer more onsite entertainment.
The quality of all of the vacation rental communities around Kissimmee, Davenport and Clermont is very good and the general standard of the homes in them can be exceptional. So, we would suggest that before booking any vacation home; determine your requirements including the intended travel dates and the number of people traveling before contacting as many homeowners as needed. This will allow you to determine which vacation rental homes most closely suit your requirements. Whether it be price, availability, location, size of the property, facilities of the resort or community, etc, all of these should feature in your decision.
Driving Directions to Mission Park
Disney World's Magic Kingdom boasts the highest attendance figures of any theme park on the planet. But Universal Orlando, which has been improving both the quality of its parks and as a consequence, its visitor numbers, is nipping at Disney's heels. So, it's little surprise that all the US domestic, and most international airlines have attempted to capitilize on this success themselves by laying busy flight schedules to Orlando. The city is served by two international airports; Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Orlando-Sanford Airport (SFB) which are 42 minutes and 70 minutes driving time, respectively from Mission Park.
A large number of flights arrive and depart Orlando International Airport each day, with Sandford far less well served. There are a number of driving routes from Orlando International Airport to Mission Park, but we generally advise on this one. To reach Mission Park from Orlando International Airport, take FL-417S towards Disney World® and continue until reaching the Celebration Avenue (exit #2). Keep right to take ramp towards US Hwy-192 in a westerly direction. Once on Hwy 192 W, drive for 6 miles and then turn right onto US27. Continue on US27 for 3 miles and then turn left onto Markham Drive. Mission Park can be found straight ahead.
As the journey involves using Highway 192, you should be aware that the 192 is the main restaurant and entertainment thoroughfare for the Kissimmee, Davenport and Clermont areas.
