Developed during the 1990s, Greater Groves, Clermont is now one of the more established vacation rental subdivisions in the area. Built in what just a short time ago, was one of the major orange cultivation areas in Florida, Greater Groves now offers all the benefits and luxury of Florida living. For golfers, the advantage of renting a home in this part of Florida is the access it offers to the vast number of courses in the area, including the Lloyd Clifton designed courses of Legends and Kings Ridge. And for families, staying at a holiday villa in Greater Groves means that you're just over twenty minutes drive from Walt Disney World®.
Vacation Rental Homes in Greater Groves
All of the Greater Groves holiday rental villas are detached single family properties and are fully air conditioned. Although they obviously all differ, in the main, they are well-equipped and spacious and have their own lanai (pool netting screen) covered swimming pool. This protects against insects and other unwanted guests.
The homes here range from 3 to 5 bedroom detached properties with between 1,600 and 2,200 sq.ft of living space. Greater Groves is made up of a mix of family residential and individual, often privately owned vacation homes. All homes come decorated and furnished with fully equipped kitchens and with everything you'll need to enjoy your stay. Some homes in Greater Groves may also offer games rooms, and if present, this would usually take the form of a converted garage and feature a pool table, table tennis, air hockey and arcade games.
Greater Groves is set in impressive landscaped grounds and staying in a vacation rental home here means that you are perfectly located for all Florida's theme parks and entertainment. And yet, after a hard day hitting the parks, a holiday villa here is secluded enough to enjoy that ‘get away from the world' feeling.
There's fun for the whole family at Greater Groves, with the community offering an impressive selection of complimentary amenities which are available to all guests staying in one of the community's vacation homes. The key feature of these is the large outdoor communal swimming pool surrounded by a pool terrace with sun loungers scattered around. This is the place to relax and enjoy the sun and make new friends with other fellow guests and families, often from around the world.
A short distance away from the communal pool is a children's play area, two full sized tennis courts and a basketball court.
Greater Groves on Youtube
In order to write our Central Disney Area Destination Guide, we visited each of the communities in the Orlando area and in a lot of cases we also recorded a brief video of the community and uploaded it to Youtube. We did this on our visit to Greater Groves, which you can see by clicking below. These videos are fairly short and are simply intended to give an impression of the community and provide potential guests with more of a feel for the neighborhood.
Getting to the Attractions from Greater Groves

Florida is the top vacation destination for domestic and international travellers alike. The Greater Groves Weather
With any location in Florida being no more than seventy five miles from the ocean, the whole state's climate is heavily influenced by its proximity to the ocean. On top of that, the state is climatically split into. The division occurs at Lake Okeechobee, in the middle of Florida. Anywhere to the North of the lake, which is where Greater Groves, Clermont is located, the climate is defined as humid subtropical, while areas to the south have a true tropical climate.
So, when staying in Greater Groves, you should expect weather ranging from warm and pleasant during the non-summer months, through to extremely hot during the period of June thru to September. Florida is called the Sunshine state for good reason, the sun shines on most days and the temperature rarely ventures anywhere near 32°F. This explains why over the years, Disney and Universal Studios have both made Florida, and in particular Orlando, their home.
If you visit Orlando's theme parks and attractions outside of the summer months, you should have a relatively dry and comfortable experience. But in summer months, it's going to be very hot and very humid most days, with temperatures in June, July and August reaching into the mid 90s F.
Alternative Similar Communities
Greater Groves is a popular place for a vacation and if you've found a home that you like the look of, then you should send off an inquiry about its availability and exact price. But it's always worth looking at other similar vacation rental home communities and resorts which might only be a mile or two away from Greater Groves and which might also be of interest. It's not a huge disadvantage, but the Davenport and Clermont communities are further away from most of the attractions, but they are often priced better than vacation rental homes in the Kissimmee area. In the Davenport/Clermont area, you might want to consider Calabay Parc (the other community) and also Calabay Parc at Tower Lake and also Tuscan Hills which is a fantastic place to stay if you're a golfer. If you're looking to limit the expenditure, then check out Crescent Lakes . And turning to the vacation rental communities in Kissimmee, you may want to look at vacation rentals in Emerald Island which is close to Disney and Terra Verde , which again is close to the parks.
If you can spend a little more, then how about looking at Formosa Gardens, or Windsor Hills or Windsor Palms which are both full resorts and so offer more onsite entertainment.
The quality of all of the vacation rental communities around Kissimmee and Davenport is very good and the general standard of the homes in them can be exceptional. So, we would suggest that before booking any vacation home; establish your needs including the planned dates of travel and the number of you traveling before contacting as many homeowners as possible. This will allow you to identify which vacation rental homes most closely suit your requirements. Whether it be availability dates, price, location, size of the property, facilities of the resort or community, etc, all of these should feature in your decision making process.
Driving to Greater Groves
If you're flying into Orlando, then the chances are that you'll arrive at Orlando International Airport. However, with the explosion of tourism in Orlando over recent years, the city is now served by two international airports; Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Orlando-Sanford Airport (SFB) which are 30 minutes and one hour's driving time, respectively from Greater Groves.
Most of the major airlines fly into Orlando International Airport and although sometimes more convenient, Sandford, offers far less choice of routings in and out of Orlando. Both airport offer both scheduled and charter services. There are a number of driving routes from Orlando International Airport to Greater Groves, but we generally advise on this one. To reach Greater Groves from Orlando International Airport, take FL-417S towards Disney World® and continue until reaching the Celebration Avenue (exit #2). Keep right to take ramp towards US Hwy-192 in a westerly direction. Once on Hwy 192 W, drive for 6 miles and then turn right onto US27. Continue on US27 for 2 miles and then turn right onto Ruby Red Boulevard and Greater Groves can be found straight ahead.
As the journey involves using Highway 192, you should be aware that the 192 has brightly colored Guide Markers along various sections which make it easier to navigate. These are difficult to miss and they count down as US27 is approached.
