Soaring Property Prices on the French Riviera
The heat left the prime London property market a year or two ago – first with stamp duty rises, then Brexit and the inconclusive General Election. The movers and shakers don't see London as offering the returns of the past, so they are making a lifestyle decision and looking at places such as France instead. The South of France has become a hot destination with E10m –E15m villas now in demand rather than just languishing on the market for years.
Cannes is the focus for the big-rollers and most buyers want a property that's ready to go. If you have up to E20m in your pocket, you will get the best of the best. For this, you could get a 5 bedroom villa on large gardens, with a pool and uninterrupted sea views. The attraction of Cannes is the high rental yields but if you're spending E20m, you're probably not looking for somebody to help with the electricity bill! For a small fee, you could even leave your own private plane at Cannes Airport! And the restaurants aren't too bad either!
On the other hand, E20m would not have the same purchasing power in Cap Ferrat . The property would either need work or it's on the wrong side of town. Home to the rich and famous and even some notorious, it is both glamorous and beautiful, yet remains remarkably unspoilt.
Wherever you go in the South of France , you will be in the right place for people watching and move star spotting. Hotels can be expensive so why not check out the selection of properties here on Tripelli.
